The same example does successfully compile in Delphi 5.0 so the above compilation error is specific to Delphi 7.0. |

This is because you deselected the "USEJVCL" option for Delphi 7 in the installer or that you deactivated the $DEFINE USEJVCL inside jvcld7.inc Fix your file and you'll be sorted. |

I did not deselect the USEJVCL option for Delphi 7 during installation. I checked my jvcld7.inc file and the $DEFINE USEJVCL is not deactivated. Is there anything else I can check? |

Then you have bogus DCU or DCP files on your system for Delphi 7. |
