Summary | 0005506: Memory leaks when building without runtime packages
Description | While trying out the latest (v3.40) JVCL in both C++Builder/Delphi 2009 I've noticed when I was making a basic (new) project with one JVCL component on a form, then building "without runtime packages" and running/closing the application something remained in memory, the app wouldn't close properly (and the IDE wouldn't stop). I noticed the problem was resolved as soon as I deleted the component or if I would switch to build -with- runtime packages. Debug/Release builds did not make a difference either. I have then installed the previous release (v3.39) and the problem did not occure anymore, so it seems to be in the latest release. This might be a local problem, maby something in my installation went wrong, but if not, this may be a critical bug.

I've noticed a similar issue was reported here: http://issuetracker.delphi-jedi.org/view.php?id=5353 and resolved in SVN. However, the current release (3.40) is still available, all who uses the newest version may go through the same debugging effort as I have before discovering it's in the JVCL. I suggest making a warning on the release notes or such, or totaly disabling the download of 3.40 since this is a major bug. |

I believe this does not happen with every component. A new release is in the works, and people can always update from SVN |
