| Description | Hello, When Installing JVCL I get the "JCL 2.2 or higher not installed" message for Delphi7 but I can and did install for BDS 2007. I Just installed a brand new computer with Win7x64 Ultimate. Then Delphi7 and it's different updates. Then BDS2007 and it's different updates. Then I have copy our SVN(2011.07.03) download of the JCL(2.3r3547) and JVCL(3.41) Then I installed JCL on both D7 and BDS2007 with no problem Then JVL installer tell me that JCL is not installed in D7 but is ok for BDS2007 I have try to invert the path environment values to point first to D7 dirs but it's have no effect. | ||||

Finally I got the answer tracing JVCInstall: I have to run the \JCL\jcl\bin\JediInstaller.exe as administrator to make it able to create the files (jcl.dcp) in C:\Program Files (x86)\Borland\Delphi7\Projects\Bpl |

By the way, I got the same problem/answer with the JVCL installer ! (no error message, but no bpl/dcp written in those newly pseudo-protected MSfolder C:\Program Files (x86)\Borland\Delphi7\Projects\Bpl |

Either use "Run as admin" or do not install old versions of Delphi inside c:\program files |
