Summary0001314: Delphi and PocketPC
DescriptionI don't know if Borland/Inprise is busy with some development to create developer tools for Windows PocketPC OS. (embedded Delphi) Now the developers can only use the embedded C++ and embedded Basic (runtimes needed) from Microsoft. In my optinion the PocketPC will shortly take over a big part of the laptop market. The last PocketPC's have a 400MHZ chip and with the compactflash cards of 1 GB! and Windows mail, word, excel, and media player installed. Now it is even possible to encode complete movies and watch it mobile on the pocketPC. You can use it as a nice MP3 player. Is there any info if someone is busy to put Delphi towards the PocketPC. I know that The PocketPC has a complete different chipset (ARM) and that probl. makes it very hard, but Borland need to go on this route.

This has nothing to do with JVCL. You should post this to the appropriate Borland newsgroup, not here.

Since Delphi 8 is a .NET enabled IDE, it is conceivable that it will sometime in the future support the PocketPC as well as other platforms.

It is highly unlikely that any older version of Delphi will support anything but Windows (and indirectly Linux via CLX).
