Summary0002341: Installation stopped looking for JclZlib.pas in JvCrypt/JvZlibMultiple.pas
DescriptionAttempted to install JVCL to Borland Enterprise 7.0. Installed JCL 1.93 build 1772a. Attempted to install 3.00Beta 2 complete JVCL and installer halted attemping to install JvCrypt. JvZlibMultiple.pas has Jclzlib in the include statement which does not exist in either the JCL or JVCL package.
Additional InformationWas able to install the other components by deselecting JvCrypt. After installation I attempted to install just JvCrypt and received the same error in the installer:
File Not Found JvZlib.dcu. I did a file search in both the JVC and JVCL installation packages and that file is not included in either of the original zip files.

JclZLib was replaced by JclCompression for one or two weeks in the JCL. Looks like your JVCL is too old, especially the JvZlibMultiple.pas file.

I have had the same exact problem and have the same findings as above. Replacing JclZLib with JclCompression does not remedy the problem.

 sounds passable except it's basically impossible to download. at 1-2K/second that's pretty pointless. we have a really fast connection but (no pun intended) it peters out to the point where the download fails with timeout. with the way it's going, that snapshot will be updated during my futile download attempts. starting to think with all the crashing (D7) and now all this install and download trouble, maybe it's not worth the trouble. i guess that's why i don't see jvcl in d2005.

Sourceforge (our web space provider) is having problems with their servers and that's why it is so slow at the moment. Nothing we can do about that.

The JVCL has never been included with Delphi.

if i have jvcl packages in D7, D7 becomes hopelessly unstable. so if the project doesn't use JVCL components, i turn off JVCL components in the project setup and delphi, instead of crashing every 5-60 minutes, it didn't crash once for several days.

 how can i get the files from the site below? is there any other way to get them? all i know is i can't build any projects using jvcl because it's all uninstalled and can't be re-installed.

forgot to mention that i was using:

Delphi 7 pro
JCL 1.22
JVCL 2 final [recommended JCL 1.22]
pc: really, really fast dual 3 ghz processor pc [i mention this because i saw some comments in the JVCL3 docs about fast pc's being better supported]

going to JVCL3 required JCL 1.91 or newer for D7. but jcl 1.92 is not published.

found that my next assigned work requires access to JVCL. horray, we get to decide today.

It is probably a specific package causing that. You could debug the problem by turning off individual packages (Components|Install Packages|uncheck selected JVCL package, check "Default") until the problem goes away. Don't forget to tell us which package it was!

This will most likely disappear as soon as you can download the latest version of JCL and JVCL from the daily zips

Would it be possible to publish, on the main server, the small set of sources that will fix this problem?

I too am stuck in installation hell and the daily is simply too slow (estimated time is almost two hours; the process simply times out). Is there an FTP option? Anything?

Has anyone tried tweaking the .Bpg to remove JvCrypt (both D6D and D6R) until a fix is out? That's what's next for me, but I fear side-effect.

You do not have to install JvCrypt if you don't want to. Just build and install the packages you need, either using the bpg or running install.bat
