Summary0002643: Unable to install JVCL 3 (02/2005) on kylix 3 on linux (mandrake 10.1)
DescriptionI can't install jvcl3 on kylix3 on linux, i have read you have problem with compatibility with visualclx packages, it's for that too ? (documentation is not vey fully explicite for this)

If we can't install in kylix3/linux my other questions are :
- do you plan in future to change these bug for compatibility/installation in kylix/linux ? (without problem, or simplified installation : no all components installed for example)
- can you add this note in readme.htm documentation from jvcl-latest.zip and on web page (http://homepages.borland.com/jedi/jvcl/ or http://jvcl.sourceforge.net/daily/) for not confuse informations ? : "WARNING !!! actually JVCL3 DOESN'T WORK on kylix 3 / linux (installation too) but we are working for this and we don't know when it will work !" (for example!)

If you plan to port for linux, i suggest to create install.sh (not build.sh) because in windows OS it's install.bat, i think it's best undestanding/comprehensible.

if all JVCL components are not installed, it's alwas best as nothing.

I often would like port my winows project in linux os, it's for that , or create a commons projects!

thank

Right now, no one is working on the VisualCLX part of the JVCL. Hence the linux support is stopped and we are just hoping someone will help us on that matter.
