Try to disable the line: {$DEFINE SETUPAPI_LINKONREQUEST} in jvcl\common\setupapi.pas and reinstall the jvcl. There is no error as long as all exports are found in this library, which could introduce errors on old systems. |

From the settings in windowsversion.inc it should work. Can you debug the dynamic loading of SetupApi.dll to find the offending function? Please also check if you have bad pathes in Delphi. It may find the wrong files from an older JVCL installation or a 3rd party component also using a windowsversion.inc. |

I cannot reproduce this in Win98, with the current unmodified SVN version. |
