I just tried this :

Drop a TJvCaptionPanel
Set its Icon property to a 16x16 icon
Set the caption to test
Leave CaptionPosition do dpLeft

I can see the word "test" completely.

Changing the CaptionPosition does make the caption disappear, it is always drawn where it should be.

I even tried with a bigger icon, the text is pushed away just right.
