Summary0004883: New version won't install after having old version
DescriptionI had version 3.20 installed. I removed this using the uninstall (JVCL first and JCL second). Then installed (install.bat) version 3.37 (JCL then JVCL).
Everything seemed to install OK, but now when I start up Borland I get "The procedure entry point @Jclstrings@strIsSubset$qqrxx17System@AnsiStringx29System@%Set$tc$iuc$0$icu$255% could not be located in the dynamic link library Jcl100.bpl."
Additional InformationTried several different install options, but none seems to help

I do NOT have Delphi installed to the default directory, but I did make sure all my paths with installing are correct. Installing the previous version back again still works.

Which package refuses to load because of this missing dependency?

Same question, as it seems you have another package that you did not recompile that uses the JCL.

When loading Delphi it stops on the Loading Package JvAppFrmD100.bpl.
Then it continues to fail 29 more times before Delphi finishes loading, giving me the same message as above.

Then you have not cleaned up your registry as it still references old packages that were not recompiled.

I did mess up at first and just deleted the old directory, but I reinstalled the old version back in the same place and did the uninstall. Then deleted the JCL,JVCL directories and put the new version in the exact place as the old.

Any suggestions on how to fix this so it will work.
I looked at the registry (including where it said in the manual uninstall) and could not find any references to JCL/JVCL after uninstalling.

I believe that you have recompiled both the JCL and the JVCL and so, I'm sorry, but you must have missed a spot, as the files are mentioned in the registry or the IDE would not try to load them.
Look on your hard drive, you might even have two copies of the same named files.

I searched my HD and only have the one directory with JCL and JVCL. Is there any other way I can clean this up so that the new version will work?
Are there any files that have been removed or changed names that there could still be a reference to after doing the uninstall?

Look in the registry, this is where they are referenced. Look for anything which name starts with Jcl or Jv and you should find your problem

I'm assuming this is sorted out
